Hashioki (Chopstick Rests)
Inspired by Asian epicurean traditions, we’ve reinterpreted the chopstick rests in brass to balance beauty and function. Each piece is hand-polished and finished with an elegant brushed texture. Use them as place card holders with the slit side up. Choose from sets of 2 or 4 for your table-scape. Alternatively, the design is also available in a longer length to accommodate sets of flatware or double pairs of chopsticks in formal settings.
Care instruction
Natural oxidation may occur due to various elements including dust, moisture and grease. We like how brass captures the times we’ve used an item. However, we understand there is also the need to clean the tarnish off after a while. To treat unwanted patina, polish with the following non-toxic solution. Mix the juice of half a lemon and one teaspoon of baking soda, stir until the mixture becomes a paste. Use a piece of soft cloth to apply the paste onto tarnished brass, rinse off and dry. Reapply where necessary and repeat the process until the piece regains desired sheen. Make sure to rinse and dry thoroughly before storing in box.
